Define what the brand is buying
One video can mean a raw UGC asset, a fully edited ad with variations, or a sponsored post on your own channel. These are different services. Specify the format, length, quantity, platform, publishing account and number of revision rounds before choosing a price.
Separate the total campaign budget from the fee for one creator. On LGI, review the compensation fields and submit a scoped quote when the campaign requests one. If the brand has not specified a creator budget, do not infer it from product value or aggregate campaign spending.
Build a cost floor you can explain
This is a made-up calculation showing the method, not an LGI market benchmark or a recommended rate. Replace every input with your own time and expenses. The subtotal excludes distribution, paid advertising rights, taxes and other licensing.
Estimate planning, setup, shooting, editing, captions, communication and revisions. A quote that covers only camera time can understate the work. Keep an internal minimum so you can evaluate a lower-budget offer without guessing.
| Illustrative line item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Planning, filming and editing | 6 hours × $40/hour | $240 |
| Direct production expenses | Props and local travel | $35 |
| One additional agreed revision | 1 hour × $40/hour | $40 |
| Illustrative production subtotal | $240 + $35 + $40 | $315 |
Price usage and restrictions separately
A permanent or very broad license should not be silently bundled into a basic production price. If rights are unclear, quote the base scope and list the unresolved terms explicitly. Specialist legal advice may be useful for high-value or broad rights transfers.
- Organic use: which accounts, platforms, territories and duration?
- Paid advertising: which advertiser, placements and authorization period?
- Content changes: cropping, voiceover changes, translations or derivative edits?
- Raw footage: which files, permitted edits and reuse restrictions?
- Exclusivity: which named category or competitors, and for how long?
- Rush delivery or extra versions: what additional work is required?
Adjust scope before discounting
If the budget is below your quote, offer a narrower deliverable, a shorter license or fewer versions. Explain what the lower price includes. Avoid leaving all the same obligations in place while making the work unprofitable.
Confirm the payment trigger, invoice process and cancellation terms. Paid, gifted and commission-based compensation are not interchangeable: a free product or possible future commission does not cover an agreed cash fee unless you intentionally accept that arrangement.
Common questions
Is there a standard fee per 1,000 followers?
No universal rule accounts for format, audience relevance, production work and licensed rights. Use your own costs and representative performance to support a scoped quote.
Are these example numbers typical LGI rates?
No. The example is explicitly illustrative and is not derived from LGI transactions or creator earnings.
