The short answer

Exclusivity restricts a creator from working with specified competing brands or categories for an agreed period.

What does exclusivity mean?

An exclusivity clause limits other commercial work. A fair clause identifies the competing category or named brands, the start and end dates, the territory and the activities covered. Broad or long restrictions can reduce a creator's earning options, so they should be priced and reviewed before acceptance.

Creator example

A creator could agree not to promote directly competing running-shoe brands for 14 days after a sponsored launch.

Questions creators ask

Does every brand deal include exclusivity?

No. Exclusivity is deal-specific. Check the named category, restricted period and any post-publication window before agreeing.
