UGC portfolio checklist for your first paid applications

A UGC portfolio should help a brand assess your production style quickly. Include a short service description, a few relevant video examples, your contribution to each piece and a way to contact you. Label unpaid sample work clearly and avoid invented client lists, testimonials or performance statistics.

Three examples is a practical starting structure, not a platform requirement. Choose work that demonstrates the specific capability a deal needs. One relevant demonstration can be more informative than a large mixed portfolio.

Show different creative jobs

Use products and claims you can genuinely support. If the work was not commissioned, say so next to the example. Do not turn a sample script into a false testimonial about results you never experienced.

  • A product demonstration with a clear before-use question and explanation.
  • A short tutorial with readable steps and clean framing.
  • A direct-to-camera introduction or voiceover with natural delivery.
  • A variation that shows a different opening or editing style.

Make the portfolio easy to evaluate

Use descriptive labels, fast-loading previews and links that do not require a login. Test on a phone and check that sound, captions and aspect ratios work. Remove outdated or irrelevant examples as your target work becomes more focused.

When applying on LGI, link the samples most relevant to that campaign and describe the concept you would create. Your portfolio supports the application; it does not override the deal's eligibility conditions or guarantee acceptance.

Common questions

Can I make a portfolio without paid clients?

Yes. Create and clearly label speculative samples, accurately describe your contribution and avoid suggesting the brand commissioned them.
