Use the link the program provides
Copy the assigned tracking URL from the campaign or workspace. Check that it opens the correct product and country storefront. Avoid removing parameters or replacing the URL with an unapproved shortener; doing so may affect attribution.
A discount code can be useful, but do not assume it credits sales independently of a link. Ask how codes and links interact, which attribution method takes priority and whether code-only purchases qualify.
Understand the limits of attribution
Tracking may be incomplete for technical or policy reasons. Do not promise that every viewer purchase will be credited. The program's written rules determine eligibility; a screenshot of a click is not by itself proof of an owed commission.
- The allowed time between a visit and a qualifying action.
- Whether later clicks from another partner change attribution.
- How cross-device purchases or blocked cookies are handled.
- Whether app purchases and country redirects qualify.
- How returns, cancellations and excluded products affect commission.
Check the published placement
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Correct destination | Avoid sending viewers to an unavailable product |
| Intact tracking URL | Preserve the assigned attribution path |
| Clear disclosure | Help viewers understand your commercial interest |
| Visible placement | Make the next step usable without misleading claims |
| Current terms | Rates, availability and offers can change |
Reconcile results with the settlement record
Record the publication date, placement and tracking link used. Compare clicks, attributed orders and approved commission over the same period. Expect reporting delays where the program documents them; escalate unexplained issues with relevant references.
Distinguish the creator's reporting from the program's settlement decision. If a number is estimated or pending, label it that way in your own records. Never manufacture conversions or share customer data publicly as evidence.
Common questions
Can I remove tracking parameters to make a cleaner URL?
Only if the program provides an approved alternative. Removing or changing parameters can break attribution.
Does a click guarantee commission?
No. Commission depends on a qualified attributed result and the program's approval and settlement conditions.
