The short answer

Product seeding is when a brand sends a product to a creator to introduce the product without automatically requiring a post.

What does product seeding mean?

Product seeding is a gifting or sampling approach. The brand provides a product so a creator can decide whether it fits their content. It is different from a barter deal that requires a post, and it is not automatically a paid collaboration. The creator should confirm shipping, ownership, posting expectations and any disclosure before accepting.

Creator example

A brand may send a new camera accessory to a reviewer with no required deliverable, while a separate deal could pay for a tested review and licensed clips.

Questions creators ask

Do I have to post a product I receive?

Only if the accepted terms require it. Product seeding without a posting obligation is different from a gifted collaboration with agreed content.
